Privacy and about
What we store
Only these timeline details, and only the ones you choose to give:
- Date of dispatch (DOD), the only required date
- Where your application is at: waiting, approved, refused or appealing
- Date of submission, query date and decision date, if you add them
- Sponsor track, sponsor's stamp, relationship type and number of children (as none, 1, or 2 or more)
- VFS city
- The first 5 digits of your application number, if you add them
- When the entry was added or changed
- A scrambled version of your private code, so we can recognise it without keeping the code itself
What we never collect
- Names, emails or phone numbers
- Passport details or your full application number
- Employer, salary, or your sponsor's nationality or address
- Notes, messages or uploaded files
- Where you're visiting from. We don't keep any record of your device or network. To stop spam, we briefly count how many entries arrive from the same connection, in a way that can't be traced back, and forget it within the hour.
There are no accounts, no sign-up and no tracking.
Who can see the data
Nobody can browse individual entries. The site only shows combined figures, and any group with fewer than 5 people is hidden and shown as "Not enough data yet", so no one's entry can be recognised. The one exception is the monthly chart on the dashboard, which shows plain totals per month (how many dispatched, how many decided) with no other details.
The number lookup checks your number against the public embassy decision file. Your number is not saved.
How to change or delete your entry
When you add your dates you get a private code. Go to Manage my entry and enter it to edit or delete. When you delete your entry, it is removed permanently. It stops counting straight away and no copy is kept.
We can't look up or recover your entry without the code, because we don't know who you are.
Data quality
Everything here is reported by people waiting, just like you. A few things to keep in mind:
- Approvals are reported more often than refusals, so the refusal rate is only shown once at least 30 refusals and 100 entries are in.
- Typing mistakes happen. The queue estimate uses a method that isn't thrown off by a few odd dates.
- Some groups, such as GEP sponsors or cases with extra checks, may move slower than the main queue.
- Estimates are a guide, not an official timeline.
Glossary
- DOS
- Date of submission: the day you submitted your application at VFS.
- DOD
- Date of dispatch: the day VFS sent your application to the embassy. The embassy works through cases roughly in DOD order, so this is the key date for the queue.
- Query
- An email from the embassy to the sponsor asking for documents, such as EDS, payslips or bank statements. It usually arrives 1 to 2 days before a decision.
- Decision date
- The date the approval or refusal list with your number was published.
- Sponsor track
- The sponsor's route: CSEP (Critical Skills), GEP (General Employment Permit), Irish citizen, or Other.
- Stamp
- The sponsor's immigration stamp in Ireland, 1 or 4.
- How fast it moves
- Think of the embassy working through a pile of applications, oldest first. This is how many days of that pile they get through every day. If it says 1.00, then each day that passes, they reach applications sent about one day later.
- Where they are today
- Picture a line of people waiting, with the oldest dispatch dates at the front. This is our best guess of the dispatch date the embassy is working on right now. If your DOD is earlier than this date, there may be other people whose DOD is after yours but whose visa is already processed. We work it out from recent approvals, so it is an estimate, not an official date.
- Application number
- 8 digits, for example 80xxxxxx. It is created when the AVATS form is started, so it loosely follows DOD but is not a reliable guide to it.
